Out of deep, genuine concern over a general lack of knowledge regarding how the birth control pill works, the dangers, and it’s potential risks, and because of an article I just recently read, I wanted to post a helpful link to aide in learning about it the dangers of the pill. If you are taking the pill or considering it,would you please consider reading the link below? Continue reading
We are off to Ashville, NC for the day to tour the Biltmore House due to the generosity of Blane’s boss. I can’t wait to take in the beauty! There were some fabulous posts this week, so forgive me if I post more than two or three! Continue reading
I must admit that sometimes, my house is just a mess.
As a stay at home mother of a sweet and energetic little two-year old and another baby on the way, there are times when just looking at the trail of toys, the clutter, the pots, the pans, and the dishes exhausts me…or sends me to the verge of tears. Continue reading

“Drama Queen” is the nickname we’ve affectionately assigned to our daughter, Eden. Life is her stage. And, audience or no audience, she has a performance for everything. She’s written songs to accompany everyday tasks from hand-washing to bed-making. She dances through the kitchen while setting the table. The fork is her microphone and the plate her guitar. Just today around the blogosphere, I’ve read many posts by bloggers who don’t typically share on the “heart” side of things–but who have opened their hearts to share what is really going on behind the scenes. A few weeks ago, I mentioned that Ann Voskamp’s Jesse Tree Advent Celebration Book was out of print. Well, I have great news! Not only is it back in print, but Ann and her family are graciously offering it to each of our family’s as a gift this Christmas.

We put our Christmas tree and Jesus tree up last night and began our own celebration of Advent using the devotional. I am so excited to incorporate this into our celebration of the birth of Jesus!
May the adoration of our Savior so present during this season be in our hearts year round!

I’m still sleeping right now, but for those of you that are up and at ‘em this early Friday morning, I thought you wouldn’t want to miss these deals that are valid for TODAY ONLY! Continue reading
Last year I had the opportunity to host my first ever Christmas Cookie Exchange. It was so much fun to get together with a bunch of fellow Army wives while taste testing cookies and other appetizers and playing games. I miss those girls and the monthly lunches we shared – and I’ve still yet to find community similar to what I experienced among the women there. Continue reading
I know of there are a few women who are engaged and even courting, so I wanted to share as an “older” woman (snort), something that has helped our marriage immeasurably. Maybe it will help you who are married but have had a bumpy ride. Regardless, my desire is to serve marriages. Continue reading
